Bethany CRC is currently seeking to fill the part-time position of Children's Ministry Director.

In this role you will:
· Ensure that the children learn the truths of God’s word each week at the level they can understand
· Ensure parents that it is a safe place to leave their children while they worship in the sanctuary
· Ensure appropriate oversight of children with special needs
· Equip parents with resources as they raise their children
We need someone who demonstrates a healthy and growing faith life and walk with the Lord to lead by example. This would be complemented with knowledge of children’s stages of learning and development and a strong desire to see our children and youth grow in the Lord.

Bethany CRC is currently seeking to fill the part-time position of Autism Support Worker.
Bethany Christian Reformed Church (CRC)
Hours: 2.5 hours per week (Every Sundays from 9:30-noon)
– unless child absent from church service
Compensation: $18 per hour
Location: Bethany Christian Reformed Church, Fenwick
Are you passionate about children with autism? Bethany CRC has a unique opportunity for you to
provide one-on-one support to a child participating in the church youth programs. You will be working
along a team of 6 rotating volunteers and with the support of the Children’s ministry coordinator, a
disability advocate and the pastor.
What can I expect to do in this role?
Assist the child in participating with the church children’s programs/group structure that support
and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and social development
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of the child
Assess the abilities, interests and needs of the child and discuss progress or problems
Guide and assist the child in the development of social skills
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and other service providers
How do I qualify?
1. A post secondary certificate in the field of social/ developmental services or Disability support
worker or ECE with special needs training.
2. Standard first aid and CPR training (or ability to acquire this in a reasonable period)
3. Training in CPI-nonviolent crisis intervention is preferred
Genuinely interested to support children with complex autism in the church setting.
Creativity to adapt styles to highlight child’s strengths
Highly intuitive to sense underlying issues behind a child’s behaviour and helping the child as
Calming nature to reduce the level of stress.
Personable and caring with a true love of children.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Police reference check with vulnerable sector screening
